Identity Art Project
We are thrilled to share the success of our Identity Art Project, a transformative two-day arts programme that took place on July 14-15, 2025, reaching 481 college art students from grades 6-9.
Program Highlights.
This comprehensive initiative featured structured activities for each grade level, including inspiring art seminars and hands-on workshops designed to unlock creative potential. Under the expert guidance of professional artist Jayamini de Silva, an Exco member of OS-UK. students experienced a unique opportunity to learn from few accomplished artists of Dharmasoka College.
The program’s impact extended beyond the workshop days, culminating in a prestigious prize and certificate ceremony on July 23, 2025. We celebrated exceptional creativity by awarding certificates and cash prizes to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, while an additional 40 students (10 from each grade category) received appreciation certificates, recognizing the remarkable talent displayed throughout the project.
This program was fully funded by OSUK with a total investment of 266,062 LKR (£659), demonstrating our commitment to educational excellence and artistic development. The feedback from participating students has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing newfound confidence and passion for artistic expression.
The winning artworks will be proudly exhibited at the OS-UK Annual General Meeting in Sheffield, United Kingdom, on September 13, 2025, showcasing these young talents on an international platform.
