Donation to ETU, Karapitiya Hospital to buy an Ultrasound scanner.

DCPPA-UK received a request from the Emergency Treatment Unit of Karapitiya Teaching Hospital, Galle to a fund them to buy an Ultrasound scanner which they need to provide treatment to the patients. Ultrasound scanner itself cost around 1.6 million Sri Lankan rupees and several pharmaceutical firms and charities around Southern province have expressed their generous support in succeeding this enormous task.  ETU Development Fund managed to find around 0.5 Million rupees for their project.

We  DCPPA-UK have decided to support them achieve their target, organizing fund raising charity dinner as it will get benefited our local community and will save many more lives. 

Our fund rising Dinner was held @ Keith Axon Centre, 160-170 Grove Road, Chadwell Heath, RM6 4BX on Saturday 21st September 2013 from 7:30pm till Midnight with Live Music by Manju Munasinghe (Sky High Band) and Sri Lankan Buffet.

It was our first ever successful fund raising dinner we have raised £1174.33 for the ETU fund and presented the cheque of Rs. 250,000.00 to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital 14th October 2013 by the DCPPA UK members including Mr Sudath Patabendi (President, DCPPA UK), Dr Krishantha  Jayasekara (Consultant Physician), Mrs Pushpa Abeygunawardana (The Nursing Sister of ETU), Dr Ganaka Senarathne (Consultant Physician), Mr Ajith Kaggodaarachchi (DCPPA UK).
